When we get our chooks in the next month or so, once their house is finished, I'm going to get them from here http://homesforhens.net/index.html
They're ex-battery cage chickens given a new life, free of cruelty and confinement. Here's some photos from their website.
1 month on at new home

The next 3 pics are the first day out of the battery farm

And here's the Cage-free campus campaign I coordinated at uni last semester, along with the fabulous help of Sally and my chicken friend Rhiannon and Lacey. We got over 300 signatures, and once I can get myself organised - will be taking our proposal to the head of catering operations to stop the use of cage eggs in all campus food outlets.
